How do I know you will make my prescription glasses right?
We are locally owned and have been in optical business over 45 years. Your prescription must be current & not over 2 years old. We will not make lenses based on our reading the Rx from your glasses. We need a written prescription from the doctor. We dispense several types of eyewear – including dress wear, safety eyewear, prescription goggles and sunglasses.
Are prescription lenses interchangeable?
Only the lenses which have their own frame/rim around each lens are interchangeable. The interchangeable lens styles we currently carry is the Nannini Modular. Most people prefer Transition or Transition Xtractive lenses instead of interchangeable lenses.
When will I receive my order?
Most non prescription orders are shipped within 1-3 days by USPS. Prescription orders will be shipped within 2 weeks from time of order placement.
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Personal checks will be accepted with a phone number. Your order will be shipped when the check clears. We also accept Care Credit, cash and money orders.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time we ship to the United States and Canada only. Canadian orders will be shipped via Global Priority mail with the USPS (6-8 days expected shipping time) and have an additional charge above the $9.50. Please provide a correct and easy to read address for all shipments.
What is the shipping charge?
Shipping charges are $9.50. Product is sent USPS Priority Mail. If you need it faster – we can ship your order Express Mail or Fed Ex for an additional fee. Please call for pricing.
What is your return policy?
If you are not satisfied with an item – call us for a return authorization. Returns will only be accepted within 10 days after receiving the order and with an authorization number and with valid proof of purchase. All returns must be shipped prepaid. No COD returns will be accepted. (And it would be a good idea to insure the package. We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages.)
On returned prescription eyewear orders, we will issue a refund for the full value of the frame only. Prescription lenses are custom made for you, and thus are non-refundable. The lenses are made to the prescription and measurements you supply, and therefore not usable to anyone else. Exceptions to this policy are non-adaptability. Please call and we will work with you to determine the problem and the solution.

What if my frame breaks?
All prescription order frames are fully guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase on material and workmanship, all others are subject to individual warranties. This warranty does not cover negligence in the use of the product, nor the prescription lenses. Flying Pig Eyewear stocks some replacement parts for frames.
Do you have the frames in stock?
We stock all of our frames, (including parts for many). If we are out of stock on an item, we will contact you and let you know when you can expect to receive it.
What is Pupil Distance (PD) & why do you need it to make my prescription glasses?
PD is the distance between your eyes, from pupil center to pupil center. The lens power is centered using the PD so that you can see clearly & ride safely. This can be obtained from any ECP that has made glasses for you as they will have it on file. If you need progressive lenses, we will need a monocular PD.
What is Add power?
Add power is your bifocal power – the ‘plus’ power you need for near (reading) vision. We often back off the add power on a lined bifocal, because your gauges etc are at mid, not reading, distance.
What is Seg Height?
Seg Height is the measurement we use for bifocal or progressive lens height on the lens. For progressive lenses this measurement must be taken for each individual and each frame by an ECP. Lined bifocals are dropped low for comfortable riding.
